a reverend says that this “was not God’s plan.” So, whenever a baby is saved from a burning building we can see the majestic work of God’s glorious power, but he just wasn’t around for this massacre? And how does this guy know God’s plan?
God gets a pass when bad things happen. Even worse, he sometimes gets a stronger following.
I would never want anyone to tell me how to grieve while they are suffering and that is not my goal here. I am just trying to point out the fact that religious thinking is no more than a coping mechanism, and this is a great illustration of that point.
