God was absent from school in Newtown, Connecticut.
How anyone can read the recent news of the school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut and believe in God, I have no idea. How a loving, merciful, good, all-knowing, all-powerful God can will, preordain, or allow the slaughter of innocent children while destroying the lives of families makes no sense. I am not judging the people of Connecticut, but the rush to churches to pray to God for the victims is ridiculous. If they believe in God, they should be angry, going to church to curse God for his injustice, barbarity, and evilness for not stepping in and protecting those innocent children.
There is no heavenly being looking out for us.
I don’t use foul language on this blog because I think it only ruins the atheist’s credibility, but, as a parent, I am so overwhelmed with anger about these murders that I need to write the following sentence:
If I were a believer, I would go to church and offer up a big “Fuck You” to God and spit in his holy water for allowing these children to be brutally murdered – his greatness and sacrifice means jack if he is going to neglect his children and be so callous and vile.
Even if I believed he was there, I would not worship him.
